Food Safety Department's raid campaign in view of Navratri, 60 kg of adulterated ghee and 10 kg of cheese recovered

Keeping in mind the festival of Navratri, raids were conducted by the teams of the Food Safety Department in various areas of Gautam Buddha Nagar. Under this campaign, the team of Food Safety Officer OP Singh and Amar Bahadur Saroj raided National Dairy in Barola Main Market, Sector 49, Noida. Here, Mohammad Alim, a resident of Bulandshahr, was offering 1 kg of ghee and 250 grams of cheese free on purchasing 1 kg of ghee at the rate of ₹ 700 per kg. During the raid, the team recovered about 60 kg of adulterated ghee and 10 kg of cheese. The department took samples of ghee and cheese for testing and seized the remaining adulterated ghee, while the cheese was destroyed on the spot. The same team also raided the establishment of Sachin Kumar Jain in Sector 122, Noida. Samples of buckwheat flour and cow ghee were taken from here for testing. The team of Food Safety Officer Vijay Bahadur Patel and Mukesh Kumar took a sample of buckwheat flour from Karan General Store located at Adarsh Sabzi Mandi, Sector 62, Noida. In the same sequence, the team of Food Safety Officer Syed Ibadullah and Vishal Gupta took samples of peanut seeds and sago from Reliance Store located in Swarn Nagari.
Strict action
Under this campaign, the teams of the Food Safety Department have taken samples of a total of 7 food items and sent them to the laboratory for testing. This raid of the department is being done specifically to prevent adulteration during the festival, so that citizens can get safe and pure food items. Officials have warned that strict action will be taken against those selling adulterated goods during the festival season. After the investigation report comes, appropriate legal action will be taken against the culprits.
