Tata Group-owned Air India on Monday introduced new Airbus A350-900 aircraft on the Delhi-London Heathrow route, which will offer twice-daily service. The country's leading airline said the A350 aircraft has 28 private suites with full-flat beds in business, 24 seats in a dedicated premium economy cabin providing extra legroom, and 264 spacious seats in economy. The A350-900 will replace the currently deployed Boeing 777-300ER and Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner on 14 of the 17 weekly flights. As a result, an additional 336 seats will be available each week on the Delhi-London Heathrow route, the aviation major said. The deployment of the flagship A350 on the Delhi-London Heathrow route is a significant milestone for Air India. Campbell Wilson, CEO and Managing Director, Air India, said, "This reflects Air India's commitment to elevate the travel experience of our guests to truly world-class standards." All guests will have access to the latest generation inflight entertainment system, offering over 3,000 hours of entertainment content, which will soon be complemented by on-board Wi-Fi.

Guests in Business and Premium Economy will also have access to 'Vista Verve' with new porcelain, tableware, glassware and bedding. Flight and cabin crew will wear new uniforms designed by Manish Malhotra for the first time. All seats on the A350 come with the latest generation Panasonic eX3 in-flight entertainment system and HD screens with content from around the world in 13 international and eight Indian regional languages, with a specific category for children with over 100 hours of content. Air India said, "With a menu designed keeping in mind both Indian and international tastes, guests will be served delicious cuisine in an exquisite collection of porcelain with Indian-inspired designs for an elegant and culturally enriching dining experience." Air India began inducting A350s earlier this year, which have been operating flights within India and on short-haul international routes since then.
