भारत ने रविवार को म्यांमार, लाओस और वियतनाम को ‘सद्भाव’ नामक अभियान के तहत तत्काल राहत सामग्री भेजी, ताकि उन्हें एक बड़े तूफान के विनाशकारी प्रभाव से निपटने में सहायता मिल सके। इस साल एशिया के सबसे शक्तिशाली तूफान कहे जाने वाले यागी तूफान के बाद म्यांमार, लाओस और वियतनाम के विभिन्न हिस्से भारी बाढ़ की चपेट में हैं। दक्षिण चीन सागर से उत्पन्न इस तूफान ने एक सप्ताह पहले वियतनाम में 170 से अधिक लोगों और म्यांमार में लगभग 40 लोगों की जान ले ली थी।
India launches 'Sadbhav' operation to aid Myanmar, Laos and Vietnam
India on Sunday sent urgent relief materials to Myanmar, Laos and Vietnam under an operation called 'Sadbhav' to help them cope with the devastating impact of a major typhoon. Various parts of Myanmar, Laos and Vietnam are reeling under heavy floods following Typhoon Yagi, said to be Asia's most powerful typhoon this year. The storm, which originated in the South China Sea a week ago, killed over 170 people in Vietnam and nearly 40 in Myanmar.
External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said 10 tonnes of aid, including dry rations, clothes and medicines, has been sent to Myanmar on Indian Naval Ship INS Satpura. A C-130J military transport aircraft of the Indian Air Force is carrying 35 tonnes of aid to Vietnam and 10 tonnes of relief material to Laos. India launched Operation Sadbhav. Jaishankar said on 'X', India is sending assistance to Myanmar, Vietnam and Laos to demonstrate its solidarity with those affected by Typhoon Yagi. “Today @indiannavy INS Satpura carried 10 tonnes of assistance including dry rations, clothing and medicines to Myanmar,” he said. Jaishankar further said: “@IAF_MCC is carrying 35 tonnes of assistance including water purification materials, water containers, blankets, kitchen utensils, solar lanterns for Vietnam. 10 tonnes of assistance including gensets, water purification materials, hygiene supplies, mosquito nets, blankets and sleeping bags for Laos.” The Indian Navy said it has rapidly embarked on preparations to undertake humanitarian assistance and disaster relief operations in response to the devastating floods in Myanmar. The Eastern Naval Command successfully completed the overnight loading of HADR pallets including drinking water, rations and medicines in coordination with the Eastern Fleet and other supporting units which had departed from Visakhapatnam for operations in Yangon. "This rapid mobilisation, despite short notice, reflects the Navy's capability to respond swiftly to humanitarian crises in the region," Navy spokesperson Commander Vivek Madhwal said.
