Vande Metro's name changed after inauguration, now it will be known as Rapid Rail

The name of Vande Metro running between Bhuj-Ahmedabad was changed a few hours before the inauguration. This train will now be known as Namo Bharat Rapid Rail. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will flag off the Vande Metro service running between Bhuj-Ahmedabad from Bhuj Railway Station at 4:15 pm on Monday.

According to the railway spokesperson, this train will cover the distance of 359 km from Bhuj to Ahmedabad in 5:45 hours. Also, this train will stop at nine stations. Passengers will be able to travel in this train from Tuesday. Also, the fare between Bhuj-Ahmedabad will be Rs 455. Railway spokesperson said that the Railway Ministry has decided to change the name of Vande Metro train to Namo Bharat Rapid Rail. 12 coaches have been installed in the train. 1150 passengers will be able to travel in them. The seats in the train have been ergonomically designed. Also, there are air-conditioned cabins.

The Railway Ministry has said that with the features of ergonomically designed seats, fully air-conditioned cabin and modular interior, Vande Metro will prove to be better than other metros. Apart from collision avoidance, fire detection and emergency lighting features, the metro has been equipped with advanced security systems like Kavach. Other facilities like toilets for the disabled, fully sealed flexible gangways and food service will be available in the metro.
