CM Yogi worshiped Maa Durga in Mahanisha Puja

Gorakshapeethadhiswar and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath performed Mahanisha Puja and Havan with rituals at Gorakhnath temple on the occasion of Maha Ashtami Tithi of Sharadiya Navratri late on Thursday evening. Before this ritual, he worshiped Mahagauri Mata, the eighth form of Jagatjanani Maa Adishakti, amidst Vedic mantras. This special ritual of Mahanisha Puja was organized in the Shaktipeeth of Gorakhnath temple under the leadership of the Chief Minister. In this ritual that lasted more than two hours, CM Yogi performed Gauri Ganesh Puja, Varun Puja, Yantra Puja, ritual worship of Maa Durga, Shodashopachar Puja of Lord Ram-Lakshman-Sita, worship of Lord Krishna and Mother Cow, Navgrah Puja, Shastra Puja and other religious activities. He invoked Brahma, Vishnu, Rudra and Agni Devta on the altar of Havan and prayed to Maa Durga for Lokmangal.

On this occasion, Gorakhnath temple's head priest Yogi Kamalnath, Mahamandaleshwar Santosh Das alias Satua Baba from Kashi and a large number of devotees were present. The ritual concluded with the recitation of Durga Saptasati and Vedic mantras, after which prasad was distributed with aarti and apology. CM Yogi said on this occasion that prayers for public welfare have been made through Mahanisha Pujan. He returned from Devipatan Shaktipeeth on Thursday morning and visited Guru Gorakhnath in Gorakhnath temple and bowed his head at the samadhisthal of his Gurudev Brahmalin Mahant Avedyanath. On Friday, on the Navami date, CM Yogi will worship Maa Siddhidatri and then perform the ritual of Kanya Pujan. During this, he will worship with reverence by washing the feet of virgin girls, feed them and give dakshina and gifts. Thus, this effort of CM Yogi not only promotes religious faith, but also strengthens the reverence and respect for women in the society.
