Meeting concluded under the chairmanship of District Magistrate on development projects in mining affected areas under DMF fund

Noida, October 10: With the aim of implementing development and welfare projects in mining affected areas in Gautam Budh Nagar district, a meeting of the Governing Council and Management Committee under the District Mineral Foundation Trust Fund (DMF) was held in the Collectorate Auditorium today under the chairmanship of District Magistrate Manish Kumar Verma. Members of the Governing Council and Management Committee participated in the meeting.
During the meeting, District Mining Officer Utkarsh Tripathi informed the District Magistrate about the projects to be implemented in upper primary and other primary areas under the DMF fund. He informed that up to 60 percent of the fund will be used for drinking water supply, environmental protection, health services, education, women and child welfare, elderly and disabled welfare, skill development and sanitation etc. in upper primary areas. At the same time, 40 percent of the fund will be used for physical infrastructure, irrigation, energy development and environmental quality improvement in primary areas.
The issue of whether the DMF funds deposited erroneously for basement mining under building/construction projects can be refunded by the Governing Council was also discussed in the meeting. Also, the committee agreed to the proposal to appoint three officers in the mining department and make their payment from DMF funds.
District Magistrate Manish Kumar Verma, while chairing the meeting, approved all the proposals and directed the concerned officials to submit the proposals of schemes and projects for upper primary and other primary areas on time. He also gave instructions to create technical infrastructure to ensure effective control over illegal mining and transportation. He also gave instructions for regular monitoring and strict action against violators to ensure compliance with the standards of soil excavation in the basement for groundwater conservation. Additional District Officer Finance and Revenue Atul Kumar, Sub-District Officer Sadar Charul Yadav, District Basic Education Officer Rahul Pawar and other members of the Governing Council were present in this important meeting.
