Gautam Buddha Nagar: Ecotech-3 police arrested wanted miscreant after encounter

Police arrested a wanted miscreant after an encounter in Ecotech-3 police station area of ​​Gautam Buddha Nagar on Wednesday. Regular checking of suspicious vehicles and persons was being done by the police on the route leading to Naya Gaon Phase-2, near Kulesara Pushta. During this, a suspicious youth riding a motorcycle was signaled to stop, but he started trying to run away at high speed. The police chased the suspicious youth and tried to surround him. Seeing himself surrounded, the miscreant left the motorcycle and opened fire on the police. In retaliation, the police bullet hit the miscreant's leg, injuring him.

The injured miscreant has been identified as Shahnawaz alias Shanu, son Mustaq, resident of Akrabad, Aligarh. He was currently living in Haldoni, police station Ecotech-3, Gautam Buddha Nagar. The police recovered Rs 24,500 cash from him, which was received as part of the robbery, a stolen motorcycle (Splendor, UP 16 DY 4259), an illegal pistol (.315 bore) and an empty cartridge. Also, the PAN card of the plaintiff related to the robbery incident was also recovered. Shahnawaz was wanted in several serious crimes and several criminal cases were registered against him at Police Station Ecotech-3. He was wanted in cases of robbery, theft and under the Arms Act. A reward of Rs 25,000 was also announced on his arrest. The police is currently investigating his other criminal activities. The injured miscreant has been sent to the hospital for treatment.
