Awareness program organized on women's rights under Mission Shakti 5.0

Noida, October 10: An orientation program based on Domestic Violence and Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act 2013 was organized today at IMS Noida College under the leadership of District Magistrate Manish Kumar Verma under Mission Shakti 5.0. The objective of this program was to make women aware of their rights and provide them legal information to protect them from harassment.

Law cum Probation Officer Jitendra Maurya informed the women present in the program about the measures to prevent domestic violence and harassment at the workplace. Advocate Kavita Nagar from District Legal Services Authority made women aware of the important aspects of POSH (Prevention of Sexual Harassment) Act 2013. Center Manager of One Stop Center Deepika Patel gave information related to domestic violence and emphasized on spreading awareness about the legal aid available to deal with it.

During the program, girls and women were interacted with, in which the challenges in their lives and their solutions were discussed. Sector 58 sub-inspector informed the students about helpline numbers and protection from cyber crime. Along with this, information was also given about various programs run by the Women Welfare Department.

On this occasion, One Stop Center case worker Priyanka, Child Line supervisor and Mahila Unnati Sanstha manager Dr. Rahul Verma along with college students and professors were present. The objective of the program was to empower women by making them aware of their rights, so that they can lead a safe life by becoming self-reliant in the society.
