Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution Minister Prahlad V Joshi on Friday inspected the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution under the Swachhata Hi Seva Abhiyan 2024. This year's theme is "Swabhaav Swachhata - Sanskar Swachhata". The Ministry in its official statement said, "To ensure clean, healthy work environment for effective operational efficiency within the Department, Union Minister for Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution Shri Prahlad V Joshi, accompanied by Secretary and other senior officers, inspected the departmental offices. During this inspection, the Minister visited various offices, interacted with the staff and advised the officers to maintain good work environment.

As a part of the cleanliness activities, a drive was carried out at Bureau of Indian Standards, National Research Laboratory in Mohali, where the staff cleaned the roadside area, collected four tonnes of garbage and disposed it off. National Test House in Varanasi and National Cooperative Consumers Federation in New Delhi cleaned office equipment, including lights, fans and air conditioners. Apart from these activities, a cleanliness workshop was organised at NTH Headquarters, which included 12 events focusing on the importance of cleanliness in office spaces and surrounding areas. A Hindi slogan writing competition on cleanliness and health was organised at NTH in Jaipur, in which 25 employees participated. To promote community participation in the campaign, NTH, Mumbai set up six selfie booths outside its office and four inside, encouraging employees to take pictures with “Swachhata Hi Seva” placards.
