Tobacco Free Youth Campaign 2.0 will run in the district till 24 November 2024


The meeting of the district level committee constituted under the Narco Coordination Center under the chairmanship of District Magistrate Gautam Budh Nagar Manish Kumar Verma was concluded in the auditorium of the Collectorate today. In the meeting held, the District Magistrate was apprised of the action taken till date by District Excise Officer Subodh Kumar to curb narcotics. The District Magistrate said that the biggest challenge in today's time is to save the youth from addiction, for this, the youth should be made aware by conducting a de-addiction campaign in the district. He said that for the purpose of stopping the sources of narcotics, extensive publicity should be done by taking maximum cooperation of medical colleges, engineering colleges, universities, other educational institutions, RWA Society, voluntary organizations. Along with this, with the aim of curbing the sources of narcotics in the district, enforcement action should be ensured by running a campaign on a large scale by all the concerned departmental officers while establishing mutual coordination so that the illegal drug trade can be curbed. He directed the officials of the concerned departments to conduct the Tobacco Free Youth Campaign 2.0 on a wide scale in the district till 24 November 2024 and through this campaign, the youth should be made aware of the harm caused to your health by consuming tobacco. Therefore, do not consume tobacco.

On this occasion, all the concerned officers informed the District Magistrate about their respective departmental proceedings and the publicity done under the De-addiction Campaign and discussed the prevention of narcotics and their suggestions on how the general public and youth can be saved from the ill effects of drugs. While monitoring the suggestions of the district level committee constituted under the Narco Coordination Center by the District Magistrate, he said that in the light of the suggestions presented before the committee today with the aim of completely curbing the sources of narcotics in the district, the concerned departmental officers should establish mutual coordination and take action towards making the district narcotics free, so that the general public and youth are not affected by the ill effects of drugs. District Excise Officer Subodh Kumar, District Social Welfare Officer Satish Kumar, District Entertainment Tax Officer JP Chand, Tobacco Control Cell Dr. Shweta Khurana, Police and other related department officials were present in this important meeting.
