Politics on journalist's death, demand for making security law

Passion, dedication to work and commitment for it. The urge to get to the bottom of the truth and the insistence to bring it in front of everyone, the death of journalist Salman Ali has shown the conditions in a small area like Sarangpur in Rajgarh district, to the extent of contract killing. The accused who shot Salman in public last night have also come under the radar of the police and the noose of law has tightened around them. Now politics is hot on Salman's shoot. Congress is taking this matter forward and talking about hooliganism in the state. At the same time, the organizations demanding the making of journalist security law for a long time have also stressed that if not now, then when will the law take shape.

Local journalist Salman Ali was shot dead on Tuesday night in Sarangpur, near the capital Bhopal. This murder in the middle of the city was carried out by three bike riders, when Salman was standing on his scooty near the civil hospital with his nine-year-old son. Meanwhile, three killers on a bike put a revolver on Salman's temple and shot him and fled. The commotion caused by the sound of the bullet filled the entire area with sensation. The police reached the spot and took Salman to the hospital in an injured state. Where the doctors declared him dead. Salman Ali's last rites were performed in Sarangpur on Wednesday.

The mafia and anti-social elements who were angry about the news used to be angry with Salman Ali. Last year also, Salman was attacked due to this tussle. During this time, some people entered Salman's office and attacked him. Sources say that to connect the links of the murder, the police is collecting the footage of CCTV cameras installed around the spot and statements of eyewitnesses. During this time, the connection of this murder with the culprits of last year's attack is also being investigated.

Regarding the Sarangpur case, Congress has got an opportunity to raise questions on the law and order of the state. PCC Chief Jeetu Patwari has posted on X, cornering the state government. He has written that when a journalist, who is called the fourth pillar of democracy, is not safe in the state, then one can imagine the condition of the common man.

Patwari said that the Home Ministry of the state has become weak, due to which anarchy has spread in the entire state. Meanwhile, former minister PC Sharma said that the empire of anarchy is spread everywhere from Sarangpur to Chhatarpur and Mandsaur to Jabalpur. The state government has completely failed in providing a safe and fear-free environment to the people.

The organizations that raised the flag of Journalist Protection Law in MP have once again reiterated the demand for Journalist Protection Law. Tariq Zaki, Ambassador of All India Reporters Association, Dr. Khalid Kais of Press Club of Working Journalist, Mohammad Salman of Indian Federation of Working Journalist, etc. have condemned the Sarangpur case. He said that the government should learn a lesson from the attacks on media and democracy defenders. The need for journalist protection law in the state should be taken seriously and it should be given shape immediately.
