Train services were disrupted due to breakdown of overhead electric (OHE) line at Mankhurd and Vashi railway stations on Mumbai's Harbour Line on Saturday morning, the railways said in a statement. The breakdown occurred at Mankhurd station and services were disrupted at 09.30 am, they said. Passengers were allowed to travel via the Transharbour Line, the railways said. "During this period, passengers were allowed to travel via the Transharbour Line using the same tickets and passes. This arrangement was in place till the issue with the OHE was resolved," the Central Railway said.

The railways further said services were running only between CSMT-Wadala and Vashi-Panvel. "Down services were not running between Wadala-Vashi. The process of repairing the OHE has been started. Due to the breakdown in the down line, services on the up line were also affected," the Central Railway CPRO said in a statement. The fault has been rectified and services were restored at 9:30 am, he said. Overhead electric (OHE) lines are used to transmit electrical energy over long distances. It is conducive to the smooth movement of train traffic.

Earlier on August 8, local rain services were disrupted due to a huge boulder falling on the tracks between Asangaon and Adgaon on Kalyan Kasara section. After a few hours of repair work, the authorities restored train services by removing the debris. "The repair work has been completed and services have resumed between Asangaon and Adgaon of Kalyan-Kasara section, where the boulder had fallen," Central Railway said in a statement. The incident affected the movement of trains on upline services headed towards Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus. The list includes 22224 Sainagar Shirdi-CSMT Vande Bharat Express, 11072 Ballia-LTT Kamayani Express, 12108 Sitapur-LTT Express, etc.
