"2024 edition of Al Daed Dates Fair kicks off in UAE, sees wide participation of date producers and farmers"

The 2024 edition of Al Daed Dates Fair, one of the UAE's leading agricultural and heritage events, has kicked off at Expo Al Daed. Organised by the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), the festival has seen wide participation from date producers, retailers, farmers and date farm owners from across the UAE. Government and private institutions involved in date farming and related industries are also involved. Abdullah Sultan Al Uwais, Chairman of SCCI, inaugurated the festival alongside several board members of the Sharjah Chamber. Mohammed Ahmed Amin Al Awadi, Director General of Sharjah Chamber, and Abdul Aziz Al Shamsi, Assistant Director General of Communications and Trade Sector at SCCI, attended the opening ceremony.

Mohammed Musabah Al Tunaiji, General Coordinator of the Al Daed Dates Festival, and a number of officials from various government institutions in Al Daed city were present. Al Uwais said that the Al Daeed Dates Festival is an integral part of Sharjah Chamber's policy of supporting and advancing the agricultural sector. He also added that the festival's priority is to achieve food self-sufficiency and contribute to the development of date farming in Sharjah and the UAE, in line with the overall vision of promoting cooperation between the public and private sectors. The organisers noted that the Al Daeed Dates Festival is seeing growing participation from local farmers, who are interested in taking part in competitions organised by Sharjah Chamber and showcasing their finest date products. The festival is also organising a "Best Stuffed Dates Dish" competition for women only. The competition awards valuable prizes, including date dishes stuffed with nuts, fruits and other food products. The exhibition runs from 9am to 9pm every day.
