Possibility of investment by major Japanese companies in Greater Noida
Major Japanese electronics, semiconductor and automobile companies have pointed to potential investments in Greater Noida and the Integrated Industrial Township. A delegation of the Japanese government visited these areas on Wednesday and saw the infrastructure here.
A three-member delegation led by Toyokazu Nagamune, South Asia head of Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, reached Greater Noida. The delegation also included Japan External Trade Organization director Daiki Hanamura and Japan International Co-operation Agency representative Issei Matsuno. The delegation visited the Integrated Industrial Township, where they inspected the plug and play system, waste management and other facilities. The delegation members were very impressed with the infrastructure here and appreciated it. Greater Noida Authority's ACEO Prerna Singh and IITGNL's Company Secretary Patanjali Dixit informed the delegation about the land bank and investment opportunities here. He also highlighted the various policy incentives available to promote industrial investment through the single window system of the Uttar Pradesh government, Nivesh Mitra.
The delegation informed that many Japanese companies are keen to invest in Uttar Pradesh in sectors like semiconductor, battery and solar manufacturing on a large scale and they are planning to export to other countries from here. ACO Prerna Singh assured the Japanese delegation that there are countless opportunities available for world-class investors in Uttar Pradesh, especially Greater Noida and Noida. She said that on receipt of investment proposals, all possible facilities and incentives will be provided by the authority and the government, so that investors can start manufacturing here as soon as possible. After returning, the Japanese delegation has assured to motivate big companies there to invest in the Greater Noida area, which can prove to be an important step in the development of this region.
