मनी लॉन्ड्रिंग के मामले में भूषण स्टील के पूर्व प्रमोटर नीरज सिंघल को जमानत दी :सुप्रीम कोर्ट

The Supreme Court on Friday granted bail to former Bhushan Steel promoter Neeraj Singhal in a money laundering case linked to the Rs 46,000 crore alleged bank fraud. A bench of Justices Sanjiv Khanna and Sanjay Kumar said Singhal has been in jail for 16 months and the trial is unlikely to conclude soon. "The appellant shall surrender his passport and shall not leave India without the permission of the court. If there is any breach, the prosecution may seek recall of the order," the bench said.

Singhal has appealed against the January 8 order of the Delhi High Court, which dismissed his bail plea and a plea challenging his arrest by the Enforcement Directorate (Ed) in the case. The ED had alleged before the high court that Singhal was involved in one of the biggest banking frauds, as well as the offence of money laundering, leading to loss of public money of over Rs 46,000 crore.
