Conspiracy to overturn train on railway track in Gwalior failed, major accident averted due to driver's alertness
Once again a case of conspiracy to overturn train has come to light in Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh. In these incidents that took place in Gwalior and Rae Bareli, train accidents were stopped in time, which could avert major accidents. In the Gwalior incident, heavy iron frames and rods were found kept on the railway track near Birlanagar station on Tuesday night. Due to the alertness of the driver of the goods train passing through this route, the train was stopped on time and a possible accident was averted. Railway officials took immediate action considering the seriousness of the incident. Police, Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Government Railway Police (GRP) reached the spot and started investigation. A case has been registered against the unknown accused and the nearby CCTV footage is being examined, although no clue has been found yet.
On the other hand, a case of conspiracy to overturn train also came to light in Rae Bareli, Uttar Pradesh. A freight train collided with a cemented sleeper late at night near Laxmanpur station in Raebareli. Fortunately, the train did not derail and no major accident occurred. In the initial investigation, it is suspected that three sleepers kept in a nearby field were pulled and brought on the track. The freight train stood still for 15 minutes after colliding with this obstruction. Railway officials have started investigating the matter. These incidents have raised questions on the security system of the railways, especially when such incidents are coming to the fore continuously. The railway administration has assured to tighten the security measures and instructions have been given to further strengthen regular monitoring and checking of the track. Police and investigating agencies are engaged in investigating these cases to ensure the safety of passengers and railway employees.
