CIA police arrested two accused who demanded extortion in the name of gangster Davinder Bambiha group along with illegal weapons. A case has been registered against the accused in Civil Lines police station. 32 bore country-made pistol and four live cartridges have been recovered from the accused. The accused were coming to fire in front of the house of the victim businessman to scare him, but before that he was caught by the police. According to the police, several criminal cases are registered against the accused in Punjab and Haryana. The accused have been identified as Parminder Singh alias Golu resident of Preet Nagar Gidderwah district Muktsar Sahib and Sushil Kumar alias Tikola resident of Dhani Chautala district Sirsa Haryana.

SSP Amneet Kaundal told in a press conference on Thursday that a businessman of the city had lodged a complaint that extortion was demanded from him through WhatsApp call on September 16. The caller was claiming himself to be a member of Davinder Bambiha group. The accused has threatened him that if he does not give the money, he will be killed like Bathinda businessman Harman Kulcha Wale. Let us tell you that last year the owner of Harman Kulcha was shot dead by gangsters on the local Mall Road. SSP Kaundal said that after receiving the complaint of the victim, an operation was conducted under the leadership of SP D Ajay Gandhi, DSP Two Sarabjit Singh and DSP Detective Rajesh Sharma and CIA Wing One was given the responsibility of catching the said gang. Investigation revealed that the businessman was threatened over the phone by accused Parminder Singh alias Golu and Sushil Kumar alias Tikola. After this, the search for the accused was started.

Meanwhile, on Wednesday, the police received information that the accused were seen near the canal track of village Gobindpura. After this, the CIA staff raided and arrested the accused. The police officer has said that during preliminary interrogation, the alleged accused have revealed that they were going to fire in front of the house of the victim businessman to scare him. According to the SSP, two cases have already been registered against accused Parminder Singh in Sirsa and Gidderbaha. The accused was absconding in a case registered in Gidderbaha in 2016. Similarly, three separate cases are registered against Sushil Kumar in Dabwali and Sangaria in Haryana. Both the accused have been produced in the court and taken on remand. During the remand, it will be ascertained how many more such crimes the accused have committed and from where did they get the illegal weapons.
