According to the SP, the students were swept away in the river due to heavy rains for a short time in the upper reaches of Maredumilli, a beautiful spot in the Eastern Ghats. Incidentally, a large group of students of ASRAM College of Eluru had gone to Maredumilli for fun. Police have registered a case of drowning in this incident.
