Stormy rains in Delhi: strong winds, waterlogging, and impact on traffic

In Delhi-NCR, it rained heavily after a thunderstorm around 3 PM today! The rain provided relief to the people troubled by the severe heat in Delhi-NCR this morning. There were heavy winds along with the rain, causing waterlogging in many areas. The heavy rain in the morning affected the daily life of the general public. While the strong rain brought relief from the heat, there were also reports of fallen trees in several places.

Additionally, due to strong winds, an iron structure fell at Terminal 3 of Delhi Airport, affecting several flights. Winds have been blowing at a speed of 60-80 kilometers per hour since morning, leading to reports of fallen trees, waterlogging, and traffic jams in various areas. At the underpass near the Mother Dairy flyover in Delhi, water has collected, making vehicles appear nearly submerged.

Due to the rain, a house collapsed in the Zafarpur area of Dwarka, resulting in the death of a woman and her three children, while her husband was seriously injured. The administration has started relief operations and is arranging for drainage in the affected areas. The IMD has advised to keep windows and doors closed and stay safe as long as the rain and strong winds continue. If you are planning to go outside, it is advised to avoid travel.
