On the death anniversary of the country's former President Pranab Mukherjee, many leaders including Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge paid tribute to him. Home Minister Amit Shah wrote in a post on his social media platform X, "I pay my heartfelt tribute to former President Pranab Mukherjee on his death anniversary. A political giant, scholar and an excellent administrator, Mukherjee ji's life journey started from a simple village in West Bengal to the highest post in the country and he strengthened the governance. His contribution will remain an inspiration for nation building.

Union Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari also paid tribute to the former President and wrote in the post that humble greetings to former President Bharat Ratna Pranab Mukherjee ji on his remembrance day. On this occasion, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge remembered the contribution of former President of India Pranab Mukherjee in nation building and wrote on X, "The true strength of India lies in its republic, in the courage of its convictions, in the vision of its Constitution and in the patriotism of its people. In his myriad roles in the Congress Party over more than five decades in public life, he brought his unique blend of wisdom, experience and leadership skills to every position, taking important decisions that strengthened parliamentary democracy."

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma also remembered Pranab Mukherjee and paid tribute to him. He wrote on X, "Today on Pranab Mukherjee's death anniversary, I pay tribute to him. His statesmanship and intellectual depth profoundly shaped the direction of our nation. He will be remembered for generations for his efforts for India's progress.
