In the 2019 assembly elections, Congress won 14 out of 23 seats, this area is considered a stronghold of BJP.

The Congress had won 31 seats during the 2019 assembly elections. So the Indian National Lok Dal had won 10 seats, while seven independents and one candidate each from INLD and Haryana Lokhit Party also won. The BJP formed the government for the first time in the state by winning 47 seats in the 2014 assembly elections.
