After success in Haryana elections, Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini meets PM Modi, BJP congratulates him on victory

After a stellar performance in the Haryana Assembly elections, state Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini on Wednesday met Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his residence in the national capital. The development assumes significance as Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Tuesday said that the BJP has declared Naib Singh Saini as the Chief Minister, though the party's parliamentary board will take a final decision on it. On Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated CM Saini on his victory in the elections. Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed gratitude to the people of Haryana for the BJP's victory for the third consecutive time, saying that people have voted for the party for development and good governance. In the 90-member assembly, the BJP got 48 seats, while the Congress got 37 seats.

In his address at the BJP headquarters, Prime Minister Modi said, "Truth has won on the land of Gita. Development has won on the land of Gita. Good governance has won on the land of Gita. People of every caste, every section have voted for us. The people of Haryana have created a new history. So far 13 elections have been held in Haryana. In 10 of these elections, the people of Haryana changed the government every 5 years. But what the people of Haryana have done this time is unprecedented. This is the first time that a government that has completed two terms of five years each has got a chance again in Haryana. Expressing gratitude to the party workers, he said that it is because of their hard work that the BJP has emerged victorious in Haryana. This victory is also a victory of the duties performed by our humble Chief Minister. However, CM Saini, defying the exit polls and anti-incumbency wave, credited PM Modi for the party's hat-trick in the state.
