Political temperature has risen in Haryana and this time the contest can be Congress versus Congress

Political temperature has risen in Ambala Cantt, Haryana's oldest city and British cantonment. The political atmosphere here will definitely leave an impact on the state's politics. After the announcement of Congress ticket, triangular equations have been formed here. On one side is six-time MLA and former Home Minister Anil Vij and on the other side is former councilor from Congress Parvinder Singh Pari. The biggest challenge for them is Chitra Sarwara, who rebelled against Congress and filed nomination as an independent, instead of Vij. Due to this, the contest has again become Congress versus Congress.

Congress may be considering itself strong here this time, but this split can cause harm again. On the other hand, while Vij is in the fray with the issue of development works, the opposition is also cashing in on the issue of shortcomings in development and the problems being faced by the people due to it. In the electoral battle between these three, Omkar Singh, candidate from the INLD-BSP alliance, is busy spoiling the equation of the rivals by applying his electoral mathematics. Talking about local issues, big projects were definitely received but there is still a lack of basic facilities for the people. There are old shops in Gur Bazaar, Dal Bazaar and Pansari Bazaar near the old grain market in Ambala Cantonment.

Sushil Goyal, a trader here, says that a lot of work has been done on health and transport in Ambala but the problem of waterlogging still exists in his market. The market road leads directly to the BJP office but the road is damaged till date. Goods have been damaged this year too due to rainwater filling the shops. Similarly, Lakshmi Narayan Khanna of Gur Bazaar says that people are still stuck in problems like road and water. So many development works have never been done in Ambala Cantt but it is also true that a lot of money came but the local officials did not use it properly. They kept the projects hanging and entangled.

The pain of waterlogging after rain and last year's flood can also be heard on people's lips. Rameshwar says - if we vote for him this time, he will give a permanent solution to the problem of Tangri river. Despite being adjacent to the GT belt, nothing special has been done for science industries in the cantonment. Businessmen were made to fill up forms but they do not know if anyone got even a rupee. Chitra Sarwara had left Congress in the last election as well and contested as an independent candidate from the cantonment seat. She had come in second place. However, Chitra's father Nirmal Singh is still in the Congress. He is the Congress candidate from the Ambala city seat. All efforts of the Congress to convince his daughter have also failed. However, he has been a former councillor. On the strength of his Aadhar vote, he is claiming to reach the Vidhan Sabha.

Rajwinder Kaur from Aam Aadmi Party, Avtar Singh from Jannayak Janata Party, Naveen Kumar from Yuga Thulasi Party, Jaswinder, Sudhir Kumar, Ram Singh, Sunil Verma, Naveen Bidla and Dharmesh Sood are in the fray as independent candidates. BJP candidate Anil Vij says that the maximum development has been done in Ambala. Health services, roads, sewerage have been improved. Projects like Shaheed Smarak will make Ambala Cantonment stand out. Along with this, the issue of the constituency has been raised strongly in the government. The work of domestic civil enclave in the cantonment is also almost complete.

Congress candidate Parvinder Singh Pari says that the public has seen the report card of the BJP in the last 10 years, so they are desperate to oust the BJP from power. The same road in the cantonment is being broken three times and then built again. A lot of money has been wasted here. The real benefit has not reached the people. Independent candidate Chitra Sarwara said that the MLA has not been able to get the water drained in the cantonment till date. The area has lagged behind due to the problem of waterlogging. On one hand, crores of rupees have been wasted in the name of beautification of the cantonment and on the other hand no master plan has been made for the main problem of drainage, sewer, drainage. Corruption is going on rampantly.
