विदेशी फंड प्रवाह और अमेरिकी बाजारों में तेजी के बीच सोमवार को शुरुआती कारोबार में Equity Benchmarks सूचकांकों में तेजी आई और निफ्टी नए सर्वकालिक उच्च स्तर पर पहुंच गया।
Big jump in stock market, Nifty crossed 25,400
Equity benchmark indices rose in early trade on Monday amid foreign fund inflows and a rise in US markets and Nifty reached a new all-time high. In early trade, the 30-share BSE Sensex rose 180.92 points to 83,071.86. NSE Nifty rose 55.1 points to 25,411.60. Later, NSE Benchmarks rose 89.2 points to a new record level of 25,445.70.
Among the shares of blue chip companies, shares of NTPC, Tata Steel, JSW Steel and Asian Paints rose up to 1 percent. At the same time, HUL shares fell by 2%. Sector-wise, only FMCG sector shares showed weakness. It declined by 0.76%. On the other hand, Nifty Metal jumped 1% due to buying in PSU Bank shares. Shares of Adani Power and Adani Green gained 4% each after receiving an order from DISCOM in Maharashtra to supply 6600 MW of Hybrid Solar and Thermal Power.
According to Dr VK Vijayakumar, Chief Investment Strategist, Geojit Financial Services, the movement of equity markets around the world depends on the Fed's decision on interest rates on Wednesday. For the first time in four years, the Fed may decide to cut interest rates. Now it will be important to see whether this cut is of 25 basis points or 50 basis points. Among the 30 Sensex companies, NTPC, Tata Steel, JSW Steel, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Bajaj Finserv, Larsen & Toubro and Bajaj Finance were the biggest gainers. Hindustan Unilever, Nestle, ICICI Bank and Tata Consultancy Services lagged behind. In Asian markets, Shanghai and Hong Kong declined. US markets closed in the positive zone on Friday.
On Friday, foreign institutional investors (FIIs) bought shares worth Rs 2,364.82 crore, according to exchange data. Domestic institutional investors (DIIs) also bought shares worth Rs 2,532.18 crore. Brent crude, the global oil benchmark, was trading 0.07 per cent higher at $71.66 per barrel. On Friday, the BSE Sensex closed 71.77 points, or 0.09 per cent, lower at 82,890.94. The NSE Nifty closed 32.40 points, or 0.13 per cent, lower at 25,356.50.
