The accused youth of a particular community, who was absconding after attempting to rape a UKG student, was arrested by the police on Thursday. The accused youth used to work in a restaurant in Agarwal Mandi Tettiri. During interrogation, the accused admitted to committing the crime. A six-year-old girl living in a village in the area is a UKG student in a private school in the village. She was playing outside the house eight days ago. Then a youth of a particular community came there and lured the girl and took her to the mobile tower of the village. The youth of a particular community tried to rape the girl by taking her with him. Then the youth ran away from there, scared by the group of monkeys that came there. After this, the girl went home and informed her family about the incident. During investigation, the accused was seen taking the girl away in the footage of CCTV cameras installed in the village. In protest against the incident with the girl, the workers of Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal organized a panchayat and created a ruckus. Also, a five-day ultimatum was given to the accused for arrest. After this, the police arrested the absconding accused from near the Basaud canal track. ASP NP Singh said that the arrested accused is Chand, a resident of Pilkhwa district Hapur. He used to work at Banke Bihari restaurant in Tettiri. The accused youth's sister's in-laws also live in the nearby village Basa Tikri.
