Elon Musk's satellite internet provider Starlink has reversed its stance, turning over and saying it will comply with an order by Brazil's top court to block access to the billionaire's social network X in Latin America's largest country. Starlink, whose bank accounts were frozen by the judicial order, had informally told the country's telecoms watchdog Anatel that it would not comply with the requirement, according to the agency. "Despite the illegal behavior with Starlink in freezing our assets, we are complying with the order to block access to X in Brazil," the company said on X, formerly known as Twitter. Musk has been in an acrimonious standoff with Brazil after Supreme Court Judge Alexandre de Moraes ordered him to ban X as part of his campaign against misinformation.

The dispute spread to Starlink and the judge moved to block the internet provider's accounts to force the billionaire to comply with previous orders. The list of assets seized by the court includes bank accounts and financial assets of Starlink Brazil Holding Ltd. and Starlink Brazil Serviços de Internet Ltd., as well as cars, real estate, boats and planes. Moraes also ordered the central bank to prevent the company from sending or receiving money from abroad. Anatel said in a statement on Tuesday that it had recorded a rise in hacking attacks, "which caused instability in systems and networks for a period of time." Brazil's Supreme Court and federal police have also reported cyber attacks.
