Manoj Tiwari on Kejriwal's release: Resign from post for betterment of Delhi
While Aam Aadmi Party leaders are celebrating Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal getting bail, the BJP has raised several conditions set by the Supreme Court for his release as proof of his "conviction" in the liquor policy case. In a video message from the Delhi CM post after the Supreme Court on Friday upheld Kejriwal's arrest and ordered him to furnish a bail bond of Rs 10 lakh and two sureties, the BJP MP listed out the conditions set by the Supreme Court for Kejriwal's release and said Kejriwal should resign from the post and pave the way for better governance of the city. Tiwari said the capital is reeling under crisis and facing crises on several fronts including waterlogging, clogged drains and crumbling infrastructure, but the Delhi CM is only concerned about his chair and refuses to budge.
Despite having an elected government, the residents have been left to fend for themselves. He should have some concern about the troubles of the people and he should resign," he said, highlighting that the apex court has barred him from visiting the secretariat or signing any files. "This makes him non-functional and unable to work for the city," he added. Earlier in the day, the court had granted bail to Kejriwal with certain conditions. The court had directed the Delhi CM not to visit the Delhi Secretariat or sign any official files unless it was very urgent. The court had also directed the Delhi CM not to make any public comments about the merits of the liquor policy case under which he was imprisoned.
