Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay the foundation stone of the Vadhavan port project costing around Rs 76,000 crore in Palghar, Maharashtra on Friday i.e. today, 30 August. Along with this, he will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of 218 fisheries projects worth about Rs 1,560 crore. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay the foundation stone of the Vadhavan port project costing around Rs 76,000 crore in Palghar, Maharashtra on Friday i.e. today, 30 August. Along with this, he will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of 218 fisheries projects worth about Rs 1,560 crore. The PMO said that the Prime Minister will address the Global Fintech Fest 2024 at the Jio World Convention Center in Mumbai. After this, he will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of several development projects at CIDCO Ground in Palghar at around 1:30 pm. The foundation stone of the Vadhavan port is prominent among them. The total cost of this project is around Rs 76,000 crore. The PMO said that its aim is to create a global level sea entry gate, which will boost the trade and economic development of the country. The Vadhavan port built near Dahanu city in Palghar district will be one of the largest deep-water ports in India. It will provide direct connectivity to international maritime transport. This project will save time and also reduce costs.
The Prime Minister will also launch a communication and support system for fishing vessels, at a cost of about Rs 360 crore. The Prime Minister will address a special session of the Global Fintech Fest 2024 in Mumbai. It is being jointly organized by the Payments Council of India, National Payments Corporation of India and Fintech Convergence Council.
Along with this, the port will be equipped with modern technology and infrastructure and the management system there will also be hi-tech. The PMO said that the port is expected to create significant employment opportunities, encourage local businesses and help in the economic development of the area. After the Vadhavan Port Project, the Prime Minister will also inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of 218 fisheries projects worth about Rs 1,560 crore. These initiatives are expected to generate more than five lakh employment opportunities in fisheries, the PMO said.
