Soham gets captaincy of India Tram BCCI recognizes Indore's strength .

There are many all-rounders in cricket who can bowl as well as bat. However, talented all-rounders who bowl with both hands are rare. Indore's Soham Patwardhan is also among the players whom BCCI has an eye on for the future of Indian cricket. For this reason, Soham was made the captain of the U19 national team. The team led by Soham also includes Sumit Dravid, son of former India captain Rahul Dravid. This team will face the Australian team on a tour of India. Soham is the first cricketer from Madhya Pradesh to captain the Indian junior team and the second player from the state to captain the national team after CK Naidu.

The Australian team will play three ODIs and two Tests (4-day) on the India tour. Soham leads the team in this four-day match. The game will be played in Chennai for four days from September 3 to October 10. Soham is currently captaining the Madhya Pradesh team in the Reliance Trophy in Ahmedabad.

Soham is primarily a left-handed batsman. Based on right-handed and left-handed swing, he swings the ball sometimes with both hands and sometimes with his left hand as per the need. In the Cooch Behar Cup, he surprised the batsmen with his bowling.

It is worth noting that left-handed batsman Soham played three innings in the Vinoo Menkad Trophy organized by BCCI, scoring 148 runs and 60 runs. He scored 117 against Haryana, 94 against Rajasthan and 43 and 48 in the quarter-finals against Baroda in the Cooch Behar Trophy. He played one innings against Delhi in the Under-23 tournament and conceded 90 runs. He took a total of 9 wickets in the Cooch Behar Cup.

Nikhil's father is a Ranji Trophy cricketer. He is currently a BCCI referee and is active in the IPL. His mother Risha Patwardhan is also a national table tennis player. His grandfather Ashok Patwardhan was also a captain in Madhya Pradesh. Nikhil's father said that his gurus Debashish Nilose and Chandrakant Pandit constantly guide him. Narendra Hirwani taught him the tricks of spin bowling, which made him a better all-rounder cricketer.
