Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel reviews relief efforts
Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel held a video conference from the State Emergency Operations Centre (SEOC) of the Gujarat State Disaster Management Authority (GSDMA) and reviewed the overall situation as well as rescue and relief operations in the rain-affected areas. The Chief Minister directed the officials to prioritise relief efforts especially for the people stranded in water-logged areas of Vadodara, Devbhoomi Dwarka and Jamnagar districts.
Health Minister Rishikesh Patel, who was overseeing the rescue and relief operations in Vadodara along with Minister Jagdish Vishwakarma, informed about the flood situation and the problems being faced by the people due to waterlogging in houses in the meeting.
While reviewing the situation in Jamnagar and Devbhoomi Dwarka, the Chief Minister directed the District Collectors to coordinate with the Air Force and Coast Guard to rescue the people stranded in the water and make arrangements for their rehabilitation.
Chief Secretary Raj Kumar informed in the meeting that the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted rain in Saurashtra-Kutch region for the next 48 hours and has urged the concerned collectors to remain alert and prepared.
