During his stay at Gorakhnath temple, the Chief Minister encouraged the country's youngest FIDE (World Chess Federation) rated player, Kushagra Agarwal, a resident of Gorakhpur, by playing chess with him. CM Yogi talked a lot with this little champ about the moves of the pieces and checkmate in the game of chess. Kushagra Agarwal had reached Gorakhnath temple on Friday to seek the blessings of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Kushagra is just 5 years and 11 months old and studies in UKG. But, his achievement is much bigger than his age. He is currently the youngest FIDE-rated player in India by achieving 1428 Rapid FIDE rating. He started playing chess at the age of 4 and on the basis of his talent, achieved FIDE rating in just one year. He got his initial training in chess from his sister Avika, who is herself an excellent chess player. Kushagra has so far participated in almost all the international FIDE rated competitions held in Patna, Bengaluru, Pune and won prizes. At Gorakhnath temple, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath not only blessed Kushagra for a bright future but also encouraged him a lot by playing chess with him. He also discussed the nuances of chess moves with Kushagra. The Chief Minister assured that the UP government will provide all possible help to further develop Kushagra Agrawal's talent. He expressed confidence that the young international rated chess player will bring glory to Gorakhpur and the state in the country and the world in the coming times.
