Amit Shah attacks Congress: Leader's involvement in Rs 5,600 crore drug seizure 'shameful'

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday criticised the Congress party over the alleged involvement of a Congress leader in the recent massive drug consignment worth Rs 5,600 crore seized in Delhi. Speaking on the post, Amit Shah wrote: "While on one hand the Modi government is pursuing a zero tolerance policy for 'drug free India', the involvement of a prominent Congress leader in the Rs 5,600 crore drug consignment seized from North India is extremely dangerous and shameful." He further accused the Congress party of trying to take the youth into the 'dark world of drugs', he assured that the Congress leader will never allow his political influence to be used to push the youth into the quagmire of drugs. Everyone has seen the plight of the youth due to drugs in Punjab, Haryana and entire North India during the Congress rule, Shah said in his post. While the Modi government is taking the youth towards sports, education and innovation, the Congress wants to take them to the dark world of drugs.

Home Minister Shah said, "The Modi government will never let the sin of Congress leaders of using their political influence to push the youth into the quagmire of drugs go unpunished. Our government is determined to make India a 'drug free country' by destroying the entire drug network, without looking at the political status or stature of the drug dealers." The Home Minister's remarks came after the Delhi Police busted an international drug syndicate and seized drugs worth Rs 5600 crore in Delhi. According to the police, Tushar Goyal, who was allegedly a Congress party functionary, is the mastermind and main accused in the case. Additional CP Kushwaha said that 15 kg of cocaine was recovered from the personal possession of accused Tushar Goyal, Himanshu and Aurangzeb, while the rest of the marijuana and cocaine was found in the warehouse. According to the police, Tushar Goyal himself revealed during the interrogation by the Special Cell that he had been the head of the RTI cell of Delhi Congress for some time. The police said that the seized liquor has been found to be linked to Dubai as well. Delhi Police said that the name of a big businessman from Dubai has come to light in the investigation of the Special Cell, who is a big supplier of cocaine.
