जम्मू-कश्मीर में दस साल बाद हो रहे विधानसभा चुनाव के पहले चरण के लिए वोटिंग जारी है। लोकतंत्र के इस महापर्व में सात जिलों की 24 विधानसभा सीटों के लिए आज सुबह सात बजे से वोटिंग शुरू हुई,

Voting is going on for the first phase of the assembly elections being held after ten years in Jammu and Kashmir. In this great festival of democracy, voting started at 7 am today for 24 assembly seats in seven districts, voting will continue till 6 pm. There will be a provision to extend the voting time at those polling stations where there are queues of voters till the last moment.

Voting will be held in Anantnag, Pulwama, Shopian and Kulgam in Kashmir division, Doda, Ramban and Kishtwar districts in Jammu division. Voting is being held in Pampore, Tral, Pulwama, Rajpora, Zainapora, Shopian, DH Pora, Kulgam, Devsar, Doru, Kokernag (ST), Anantnag West, Anantnag, Shrigufwara-Bijbehara, Shangas-Anantnag East, Pahalgam in Kashmir division and Indrawal, Kishtwar, Pader-Nagseni, Bhaderwah, Doda, Doda West, Ramban and Banihal in Jammu division.

As per the latest voter list, 23,27,580 lakh voters are eligible to exercise their franchise, including 11,76,462 lakh men, 11,51,058 lakh women and 60 third gender. There are 5.66 lakh young voters. This includes 5.66 lakh voters between the age of 18 to 29 years, 1,23,960 lakh voters between the age of 18 to 19 years. Of these, 10,261 men and 9,329 women will vote for the first time. Similarly, 28,309 persons with disabilities (PWD) and 15,774 voters above the age of 85 years are eligible.

64 candidates are contesting in Anantnag district, 45 in Pulwama district, 27 in Doda district, 25 in Kulgam district, 22 in Kishtwar district, 21 in Shopian district, 15 in Ramban district, 48 in Kishtwar district, 9 in Inderwal assembly constituency, 7 in Kishtwar assembly constituency, 6 in Pader-Nagseni assembly constituency, 10 in Bhaderwah assembly constituency in Doda district, 9 in Doda assembly constituency, 8 in Doda West assembly constituency. 8 in Ramban assembly constituency in Ramban district, 7 in Banihal assembly constituency, 14 in Pampore assembly constituency in Pulwama district.

At the same time, 9 candidates are contesting in Tral assembly constituency, 12 in Pulwama assembly constituency, 10 in Rajpora assembly constituency, 10 in Jainpora assembly constituency in Shopian district, 11 in Shopian assembly constituency, 6 in DH Pora assembly constituency in Kulgam district, 10 in Kulgam assembly constituency and 9 in Devsar assembly constituency. In Anantnag district, 10 candidates are contesting in Doru assembly constituency, 10 in Kokernag (ST) assembly constituency, 9 in Anantnag West assembly constituency, 13 in Anantnag assembly constituency, 3 in Srigufwara-Bijbehara assembly constituency, 13 in Shangas-Anantnag East assembly constituency, 6 in Pahalgam assembly constituency.

There are a total of 3,10,613 registered voters in the three assembly constituencies in Doda district, which include 1,60,057 men, 1,50,521 women and 8 third gender. There are a total of 534 polling stations in these constituencies. Anantnag district has 6,67,843 voters in seven assembly constituencies, including 3,36,200 men, 3,31,639 women and 4 transgenders. An extensive network of 844 polling stations has been set up across the district. Ramban district has a total of 2,24,214 voters registered in two assembly constituencies, including 1,16,019 male voters, 1,08,193 female voters and 1 transgender voter. A total of 365 polling stations have been set up here.

Shopian district has been divided into two assembly constituencies, with a total of 2,09,062 registered voters, including 1,04,894 men, 1,04,161 women and 7 transgender voters. 251 polling stations have been set up in both the constituencies. A total of 4,07,637 voters are registered in Pulwama district, including 2,02,475 men, 2,05,141 women and 21 transgenders in four assembly constituencies. 481 polling stations have been set up in the district. Kulgam district has three assembly constituencies, with 3,28,782 registered voters, including 1,64,852 men, 1,63,917 women and 13 transgender voters. 372 polling stations have been set up here. Kishtwar district, with three assembly constituencies, has a total of 1,79,374 voters, including 91,935 men and 87,435 women and 4 transgender voters. 429 polling stations have been set up across the district. There are a total of 302 urban and 2974 rural polling stations.
