Noida: Suspect who fired at police arrested, was riding a motorcycle without number plate

During checking at Display Square, Phase-2 police station of Noida signaled a suspect riding a Splendor Plus motorcycle without a number plate to stop, but he did not stop. When the police chased him, he started running from Kakrala Idgah towards Sector 112. Seeing himself surrounded by the police, the suspect left the motorcycle and started firing at the police with the intention to kill them. In self-defense, the police retaliated, in which the accused Shakeel, son of Habib Khan, resident of Salarpur, Police Station Sector 39, Noida, was injured by bullets. A .315 bore pistol, an empty cartridge, a live cartridge, and a stolen Splendor Plus motorcycle were recovered from Shakeel's possession. The injured accused was immediately admitted to the hospital.

Shakeel, a native of village Roshanpur, Police Station Charkhari, Mahoba, Uttar Pradesh, already has several criminal cases registered against him. These include FIR No. 347/24 and 348/24 Section 305A BNS Thana Ecotech-3, FIR No. 366/24 Section 60 Excise Act, and FIR No. 105/24 Section 8/20 NDPS Act Thana Phase-2, Gautam Budh Nagar. Several other cases are also pending against the accused, including cases registered under Arms Act, theft, and NDPS Act. This action taken by the police has led to the arrest of another absconding criminal, which will help in maintaining security and peace in the area.
